Arsenal Injury Update - Five Key Players Could Miss Premier League Clash Against Fulham

March 21, 2025

Arsenal Injury Update

Arsenal face a potential selection crisis when they return to Premier League action against Fulham on April 1. The Gunners, currently trailing league leaders Liverpool by 12 points, are eager to close the gap but may have to do so without several key players.

With the international break and FA Cup quarter-finals disrupting domestic action, Arsenal will be hoping for positive news on the injury front.

However, multiple first-team stars, including Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havertz, and potentially Bukayo Saka, could miss the upcoming clash. Additionally, Riccardo Calafiori has emerged as a fresh injury concern after limping off during Italy’s recent fixture.

Latest Arsenal Injury News and Expected Return Dates

Bukayo Saka

The England international has been sidelined with a serious hamstring injury since late December, missing Arsenal’s last 13 Premier League games. However, manager Mikel Arteta recently provided an encouraging update, stating that Saka is "getting closer" to making a comeback. While no definitive return date has been confirmed, he is expected to feature before the end of the season.

Expected return: Before the end of the season

Riccardo Calafiori

The Italian defender was forced off during Italy’s Nations League quarter-final against Germany after his knee appeared to buckle. Italy manager Luciano Spalletti admitted that Calafiori felt discomfort but added that further assessments would be needed to determine the severity of the injury.

Expected return: Unknown

Gabriel Jesus

Jesus has been out of action since sustaining an ACL injury during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in early January. The Brazilian forward is set for a long-term spell on the sidelines, with the club confirming he will not play again this season.

Expected return: Next season

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu underwent knee surgery last month, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign. The Japanese international will focus on rehabilitation ahead of a potential return next season.

Expected return: Next season

Kai Havertz

Havertz suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s mid-season training camp in the Middle East, effectively ending his season. The German international confirmed via social media that he underwent successful surgery and is now focused on his recovery.
